*Now available for purchase from [my Etsy store](https://www.etsy.com/listing/158637106/fennec-fox-ring).* I love [Angus](http://www.thingiverse.com/Angus)'s [Fennec Fox Ring](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:60402), but when I printed it, it came out with a few defects and my Replicator 2 with MakerWare Software didn't cope well printing the ears, so I've fixed up the model to work better

**Version 1** is a tweaked version of Angus's original model, shown printed in faberdashery jade green. The mouth is closed up and the sharp edges on the ears have been fixed.

**Version 2** (shown in clear PLA) is rebuilt in blender with a thinner ring, and with the fox head brought in a little closer to the finger and moved down so the chin is at the same level as the bottom of the ring. The ring itself is a bit thinner and much less faceted, which looks great printed in transparent filament. The ears were evened out so they are the same height and some of the asymmetries were improved. The ears were a particular focus, with the facets adjusted to catch light in their subtle flat planes along the grain of the print. Infill and supports are unnecessary, so it prints a bit quicker than the original too - about 20 mins on a Replicator 2. I consider this a work in progress and I'd like to have it print reliably without a raft in the future. Also note the ring is sized differently in this version.

**Version 1 Sizing:** Printed at 100% the inside diameter of the ring is 20.7mm, which converts to these [international ring sizes](http://www.celtarts.com/ring_size.htm):

+ **Japanese**: 10
+ **Swiss**: 11 3/4

Scale as appropriate before printing.
